Xiamen was named China's most internationally influential inbound tourism city for 2025–2026 at the Weibo Travel Night held in Kaifeng, Henan province.
"China is ready, Xiamen is ready," said Yi Xianliang, special envoy for BBNJ Secretariat Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "Choosing China means choosing a future of greater certainty and stability for global governance."
Gnassingbe, president of the Council of the Togolese Republic, has spoken highly of China's proven record in global ocean governance, expressing confidence in Xiamen's bid to host the permanent secretariat of the historic United Nations marine treaty.

The Korea Tourism Organization said the new routes will give travelers more destination choices and greater convenience when visiting South Korea.
At the invitation of the Organizing Committee of the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), a 14-member delegation led by YBhg. Dato' Haji Abd. Hamid bin Hussain, mayor of the Royal City of Klang, Malaysia, visited Xiamen from Sept 3 to 10.
