Xiamen and sister-city Izmir promote exchanges
To further strengthen their sister-city relationship, a 17-member delegation led by Ramazan Tezcan, Secretary General of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality of Turkiye, visited Xiamen in Southeast China's Fujian Province from March 15th to 17th.
During a meeting with the delegation on March 17th, Zhang Quan, Director General of Foreign Affairs Office of Xiamen Municipal People's Government, hailed the close and fruitful economic, trade, cultural, and youth exchanges between the two cities since establishing sister-city ties.
Zhang added that Xiamen looks forward to using the visit as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation with Izmir in municipal governance and urban development, conventions and exhibitions, and tourism, as well as to promote cultural and educational exchanges between the two cities.
Tezcan highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Xiamen and its strong complementarity with Izmir as a solid foundation for cooperation between the two cities. He also expressed hope that continued collaboration would elevate their sister-city ties to new heights.
