Xiamen Air will launch the first direct charter flight route from Fujian province to the Maldives on Feb 14, significantly reducing the travel time between the two destinations.
In addition, Xiamen Air will also operate direct charter flights from Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province, to Male on Feb 18 and Feb 22, linking Fujian with the Maldives' aerial Silk Road.
In order to further promote exchange and cooperation between the Maldives and Fujian in trade, investment, cultural tourism, and other fields, Xiamen Air has actively facilitated the opening of direct flights between the two places.
The charter flight schedule has taken into full consideration the needs of tourists. The flight from Fuzhou to Male, capital of the Maldives, departs at 7 am and arrives at 11 am, while the flight from Male to Fuzhou departs at 12:10 pm and arrives at 10:20 pm (all times are local).
Upon arrival in Male, passengers can seamlessly connect to seaplanes, speedboats, and other forms of transport, allowing for same-day arrival and same-day island experiences without the need to wait for the resort experience on the island.
The charter flight from Fuzhou to the Maldives saw a 100 percent group booking rate on its inaugural flight on Jan 28. Passengers can obtain specific flight information through Xiamen Air Travel and join the charter tour to the beautiful Maldives before the Spring Festival.
