The Xiamen government recently issued a work plan consisting of 38 major tasks to speed up digital governance, the digital economy and digital society construction in the city this year.
Local authorities are expected to make every effort to expand online government services, which are expected to cover at least 600 administrative approval items, including 220 self-service items.
Cross-province administrative services will also be promoted, covering 40 cities in 10 provinces, to bring more convenience to the public.
In addition, the city aims to cultivate 30 technology centers and engineering research centers at the municipal level and above, and build a batch of digitalization service platforms this year to boost the development of the digital economy.
Digital technology is encouraged to be widely used in medical services and daily transport, such as smart parking, to maximize the benefits.
Efforts will also be made to upgrade the city's internet infrastructure, with the establishment of 10,000 new 5G base stations and 50 5G virtual private networks.
