A French delegation visited Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, on Nov 2 to seek cooperation with the Chinese city in airport construction and other airport related industries.
The delegation consisted of seven members, among them including Jean-Michel Meese, councillor of Pays de la Loire in France, and Jean-Francois Benon, managing director of Val d'Oise Economic Expansion Committee in the Île-de-France region.
Li Xiaoping, director of Xiamen's Foreign Affairs Office, said during a meeting with the French delegation that Xiamen and France have maintained close exchanges in the shared interests of economy and culture and hoped the delegation might promote the two places' cooperation on high-tech industries.
Benon holds the view that Val d'Oise and Xiamen share many similarities in their plans for improvements in industrial structure and is positive about cooperation with the city in the future.
The French delegation reached intention of cooperation with Xiamen Free Trade Zone committee and airport construction office in the city in airport construction, management, aircraft maintenance and air logistics.
Val d'Oise is a base of traditional industries and aviation industry in France with strong strengths in the aviation industry, aviation training and airport service.

China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
