A total of 19 teenagers from the United States experience moon cakes making with their boarding families in Xiamen, Fujian province, on July 27 to greet the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on Sept 19.
Guided by their Chinese teachers, they all did a good job in making moon cakes with crispy skin from rolling a dough, putting the dough to a mould, to filing favored fillings to the mould.
One of the American students said that it was quite interesting to make moon cakes and traditional Chinese culture is really charming.
