The Xiamen (Haicang) international half marathon will be held in Haicang district of Xiamen, Fujian province on Dec 12, informed an official.
The event will include a half marathon and a 10 km marathon. It will attract 30,000 athletes from 27 countries and regions.
As the largest national district for Taiwan investment, Haicang has been dedicated to enriching the cultural life for locals and Taiwan people in the district by holding such activities as half marathon, martial arts and golf contests and cross-Straits Lohas (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) festival.
China has decided to extend its visa waiver policy to ordinary passport holders from Canada and the United Kingdom starting from Feb 17.
Forty-one new port-of-entry duty-free shops have been established nationwide, with Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport, Xiamen Wutong Passenger Wharf, and Xiamen International Cruise Center included on the list.
