The third cohort of the BRICS New Industry "Golden Egret" Excellence Scholarship kicked off in Xiamen, Fujian province, with 24 participants from 17 countries — including Brazil, Russia, South Africa, and Egypt — taking part in the 2026 BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Innovation Center (BPIC) Training Program on Intelligent Manufacturing and Innovation-Driven Development (Autumn Session).

Run by the BPIC, a Xiamen-based platform for industrial cooperation among BRICS countries, the 16-day workshop spans Xiamen, Changsha, and Chengdu. Through classroom sessions, roundtable discussions, and field visits, participants will explore China's approaches and experience in advancing digital and intelligent development.

Site visits took them to Chinese companies such as King Long, Sany, and Tongwei Solar, offering first-hand insight into smart manufacturing and industrial innovation.

A business networking session held in Xiamen on Oct 22 brought the 24 participants together with representatives of leading local industrial firms — including Hithium Energy Storage, SDIC Intelligence, Biotime Biotech, and Linsheng Machinery — to exchange views on topics such as new energy, smart cities, smart healthcare, and smart manufacturing.
