Xiamen has once again ranked among the top 10 Chinese cities in the foreign talent attraction index, according to the 2025–2026 "Amazing China — The Most Attractive Chinese Cities in the Eyes of Foreign Talents" released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security's Foreign Talent Research Center on Sept 28.
Xiamen has been named one of the most attractive Chinese cities for foreign talent every year since 2021 and has ranked in the top 10 from 2023 to 2026.
In recent years, Xiamen has stepped up its efforts to support foreign talent, making it easier and more attractive to work and live in the city.
This year, it launched a pilot reform program on comprehensive support services, exploring new approaches in recruiting foreign talent, putting their skills to use, providing public services, and helping them integrate into local society.
A full English-language channel called "Charming Xiamen", which went live in October 2025, offers one-stop information on the city, policies, job openings, education, and healthcare, and reaches more than 170 countries and regions worldwide.
Alongside the online platform, Xiamen holds in-person networking and recruitment events for foreign talent, where employers post dedicated positions and meet candidates face to face.
Xiamen also hosts regular cultural exchange events, giving international talent the chance to explore the city, take part in local festivals, and build a stronger connection to the city.
China has extended its 240-hour visa-free transit policy and Hainan's 30-day visa-free entry policy to citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam, the National Immigration Administration said on Aug 20.
