At the invitation of the Organizing Committee of the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), a 14-member delegation led by YBhg. Dato' Haji Abd. Hamid bin Hussain, mayor of the Royal City of Klang, Malaysia, visited Xiamen from Sept 3 to 10.
During the visit, the delegation attended the CIFIT opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech at the main forum of the 8th Silk Road Maritime International Cooperation Forum.
The delegation also attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 Xiamen Friendship City Photo Exhibition, themed "Together for a Sustainable Ocean", and toured the CIFIT exhibition halls.
To explore opportunities for substantive cooperation, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Xiamen Municipal People's Government arranged for the delegation to visit the Silk Road Maritime Management Center, Haicang Renewable Energy Power Plant of Xiamen Municipal Environmental Energy Co Ltd, Xiamen University, and Xiamen Institute of Technology.
China has extended its 240-hour visa-free transit policy and Hainan's 30-day visa-free entry policy to citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam, the National Immigration Administration said on Aug 20.
