The Giro d'Italia Ride Like A Pro China Tour Xiamen Open Race 2026 started at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center on June 28. The race attracted 1,687 riders from 14 countries and regions, including 1,668 domestic participants and 19 international riders.
The Ride Like A Pro event, part of the century‑old Giro d'Italia brand, made its debut in Xiamen, marking the city's first‑ever hosting of a road cycling race at such a high level. The 77‑kilometer route crossed five administrative districts, taking riders along the scenic Island Ring Boulevard with its ocean vistas, past the tranquil waters of Wuyuan Bay, over the Jimei Bridge, and along the coastal greenway of the Huandong Romantic Coast, before finishing at the Xiamen International Expo Center.
The race was as much a test of Xiamen's event‑hosting capabilities as it was a competition of speed. And the city's selection was far from random. Michele Napoli, CEO of RCS Sport, put it this way: "Xiamen's coastal and mountain scenery is a perfect match for the competitive DNA of the Giro."
After a hard‑fought race, Xue Fuwen of the Winspace Racing Team won the men's elite overall title and took home the coveted pink jersey, the event's highest honor. Zhang Tingting of the Bigrock Dashi Meiqi Factory Team claimed the women's elite overall championship.
