Xiamen Airlines will launch a direct passenger route from Xiamen to London Heathrow Airport starting Sept 6. This marks Fujian province's first non‑stop link to London, the United Kingdom, eliminating the need for connecting flights and creating a convenient air bridge between Fujian and key European markets.
Operating under flight numbers MF821 and MF822, this Boeing 787 wide-body aircraft service runs three times a week — on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The outbound leg from Xiamen to London departs at 00:50 am and arrives at 6:35 am, while the return flight from London to Xiamen takes off at 12:35 pm and touches down at 7 am. All times are local.
For the outbound leg, the Xiamen departure is scheduled in the early morning, so passengers traveling from overseas cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, and Bangkok, as well as those from domestic destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Changsha, can all reach Xiamen the day before via Xiamen Airlines' extensive route network. After a brief rest, they can make a smooth connection to the London flight in the early hours of the following day.
The flight arrives at London Heathrow Airport in the early morning hours, which is convenient for business travelers who want to begin work on the day they arrive. It also allows ample connection time for passengers transferring to other European destinations, including Denmark and Sweden.
