China has decided to extend visa-free entry for Russian citizens until Dec 31, 2027, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said on May 20.
Ordinary passport holders from Russia can stay visa-free for no more than 30 days for the purposes of business, tourism, visiting family and friends, exchange and transit, Guo Jiakun told a regular news conference.
Beijing is willing to work with Moscow to further facilitate people-to-people exchanges, injecting more impetus into the development of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era, Guo said.
The measures upgrade an earlier policy released in 2025 and are designed to make the process "more convenient, faster and easier" for foreign shoppers, according to an official notice.
The Brazilian government announced on Thursday that it will grant visa-free entry to Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports starting on May 11.
