The "Albatros" Asia-Europe service, operated by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), made its maiden call at Xiamen Port on May 1, following the smooth docking of the MSC PERLE at Songyu Terminal.
The new route provides an efficient logistics link from enterprises in Fujian and its surrounding hinterland to core ports in Europe.
The newly launched "Albatros" service is a weekly Far East-Europe trunk line operated by MSC, featuring 15 large container ships each exceeding 150,000 deadweight tons. The route calls at key hubs such as Singapore, Felixstowe, and Bremen, with its final destination being the Port of Gdansk in Poland.
Xiamen Port's strategic location, high operational efficiency, extensive route network, and competitive edge in niche foreign trade sectors like stone and light industrial products make it an important port of call.
The route primarily carries Fujian's foreign trade commodities, including stone, garments, sanitary ware, and home appliances. During its maiden call, approximately 2,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) of cargo were handled at Songyu Terminal.
The Fujian Provincial Department of Justice has launched a pilot program in Xiamen that allows law firms to hire foreign lawyers as legal consultants.
As Xiamen continues to enhance its educational resources and international business environment, Achieve Xiamen International School (AXIS) has emerged as a key pillar of its international talent strategy.
