With the guidance and support of higher-level authorities, the Foreign Affairs Office of Xiamen Municipal People's Government has fully leveraged its foreign affairs resources and networks to assist Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University in implementing the "Heart Sapling Visiting Scholar Program" in an innovative fashion.
Over the course of three years, the program has trained 37 medical professionals from 16 countries. These participants have progressed from merely observing operations to performing surgeries as lead surgeons, and from being trainees to emerging as instructors in their own right.
