A delegation from Orange County, California, the United States, recently visited Xiamen for exchange activities. Renowned conductor and Pacific Symphony's music director emeritus Carl St Clair collaborated with the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra to present a concert. He also participated in a symphony performance celebrating the 35th anniversary of Xiamen Music School.
Last July, Orange County Music and Dance and Xiamen Music School established a sister-school partnership. Eight guests from the school and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra attended and enjoyed the entire concert.
Since last year, Orange County Music and Dance has twice organized youth groups from Irvine, California, to visit Xiamen and participate in Friendships of Xiamen: U.S. Youth Ambassadors in Xiamen.
The delegation also engaged in exchanges with institutions such as Xiamen Art School and Hongyanzhuang Puppet Art Museum and visited Gulangyu Island, further deepening and expanding friendly interactions between the two regions.
