Online arrival card system for intl travelers goes live in Xiamen

(en.fao.xm.gov.cn) Updated:2025-11-24

The National Immigration Administration's online arrival card system for international travelers took effect on Nov 20, when Xiamen Port greeted the first group of foreign travelers utilizing the system.

"It's incredibly time-saving! The entire process took just two minutes to complete," remarked a Hungarian traveler, in the arrival hall of Terminal 3 at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport. He raved about the online arrival card filing method, noting that it was far more convenient and efficient than filling out paper forms on-site and streamlined the entry process for foreign visitors.

International travelers can submit their entry details online before arrival through the NIA's official website, the Government Service Platform, the "NIA 12367" app or the WeChat (Alipay) mini program or by scanning a QR code.

Personal information partially entered through the app can be reused within the next year without the need for re-entry.

For travelers who are unable to complete the online form in advance, entry information can be submitted upon arrival at immigration inspection sites at all Chinese ports of entry. They may do so by scanning a QR code, using on-site smart devices, or filling out a paper arrival card.

To ensure the smooth implementation of the new policy, the border inspection department has released multilingual filing guidelines in advance through channels including aviation, ports, and tourism platforms.
