Marking its fifth anniversary on Nov 17, the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Innovation Center, also known as BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center or BPIC, has built a remarkable track record, organizing over 40 exchange forums, delivering more than 90 training sessions for talent, and securing 138 collaboration projects with a cumulative investment of over 62 billion yuan ($8.73 billion).
Over the past five years, the BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center has focused on institutionalized and sustainable development, establishing a comprehensive cooperation system integrating policy, talent, and projects, thereby providing a "BRICS model" for global industrial development.
It has become one of the most dynamic and influential flagship platforms within BRICS cooperation mechanisms.
The center serves the broader BRICS cooperation framework by providing international public goods. It actively builds an innovation and cooperation network for the Global South, partnering with BRICS members and other emerging markets and developing countries to promote shared access to opportunities in the new industrial revolution.
Through legislation in the Xiamen Special Economic Zone, BRICS Innovation was established, enabling institutionalized, professional, and international operation of the base and providing solid institutional support for deepening practical collaboration within BRICS.
The center fosters global engagement through its annual Xiamen Forum while rapidly advancing cooperation structures like empowerment platforms, an industrial innovation alliance, a digital block, and a future innovation park — collectively generating significant industrial cluster dynamics.
China has decided to extend its visa waiver policy to ordinary passport holders from Canada and the United Kingdom starting from Feb 17.
Forty-one new port-of-entry duty-free shops have been established nationwide, with Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport, Xiamen Wutong Passenger Wharf, and Xiamen International Cruise Center included on the list.
