A Boeing 777 freighter departed from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport to Brazil on Oct 14, transporting e-commerce cargo that included clothing and household supplies. This flight represents China's first special cross-border e-commerce airline, establishing a critical connection between BRICS cities and enhancing the logistics network between Xiamen, China, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
As of Oct 15, the BRICS route has operated 616 round-trip flights, transporting a total of 40,100 metric tons of import-export cargo, and 41.79 million exported packages.
Most Pearl River Delta packages are now exported via the BRICS route, which is cheaper and faster than other airlines.
The BRICS route, launched on Feb 10, 2023, operates three flights weekly, exporting major products such as shoes and clothing, as well as household appliances, and importing salmon, cherries, and other seasonal fresh food from South America.
