The Xiamen Friendship City Photo Exhibition Celebrating the Anniversaries of Friendship City Relations is a people-to-people diplomacy initiative launched by Xiamen to effectively leverage its international sister city resources. Through photographic works, it showcases the forging of sister city relationships, urban landscapes, cultural features, and achievements in exchange and cooperation. To date, the photo exhibition has been held for six editions.
This edition of the photo exhibition will be held alongside events featuring the United Kingdom, the guest country of honor of the 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), anniversary celebrations of the establishment of sister-city relationships, and the 5th anniversary of the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Innovation Center.
Centered around the theme of green and sustainable development, it will highlight the distinctive features and green innovation initiatives of sister cities from the UK, those celebrating friendship anniversaries, and BRICS member nations. The exhibition will also showcase the achievements made in exchanges and cooperation between Xiamen and its various sister cities.
The photo exhibition will open on Sept 8 and be held at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center during the 25th CIFIT from Sept 8 to 11. It will then tour multiple locations, including the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District FTZ Pilot Zone (Sept 13–26), Xiamen MixC (Sept 29–Oct 10), Xiamen Jiageng Theater (Oct 28), and Xiamen Municipal Library (Nov 7–14).
