Wu Bin, mayor of Xiamen, led a delegation to France and the United Kingdom from July 7 to 12, comprehensively promoting Xiamen and facilitating investment and trade cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation highlighted Xiamen's strong opening-up policies, industrial development, and business-friendly environment.
To strengthen industrial partnerships, the delegation engaged with representatives of global leaders such as Swire Group, TotalEnergies, and Schneider Electric, driving cooperation in aviation MRO, renewable energy, biopharma, and advanced manufacturing.
The visit resulted in a number of signed project agreements, alliances with Xiamen's top supply chain firms, AI-powered industrial park initiatives, and enhanced global supply chain integration.
The delegation also enhanced financial ties through meetings with Bpifrance, Cathay Capital, and Apax Partners, hosting a capital matchmaking forum. Targeting cutting-edge sectors like renewables, new materials, and advanced displays, they accelerated project localization in Xiamen and built pathways for market expansion, outbound investment, and collaborative branding.
Meanwhile, the delegation actively promoted the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), inviting global institutions and enterprises to join the 2025 event. Both French and British entities showed keen interest in participating.
With the UK as this year's guest country of honor, the team engaged the China-Britain Business Council and key firms to co-organize the "Invest in UK" forum and draw top-tier businesses to Xiamen.
