Financial capital investment will be a focus of the 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) to be held in Xiamen, Fujian province, between Sept 8 and 11.
Special areas will be dedicated for the first time to low-altitude economy and artificial intelligence at the venue, said Yu Hao, director general of Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Convention & Exhibition, at an event promoting the fair in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on June 3.
United Nations Conference on Trade and Development will hold a high-end event jointly with Chinese cities for international dialogue and cooperation on investment promotion and technological innovation, he said.
The online CIFIT system will be upgraded to better facilitate online exhibition, matchmaking and negotiation.
The United Kingdom will be the guest country of honor at the fair this year.
"We see Chinese businesses succeed in the UK and UK businesses succeed here in China. And we want to see more of that," said Trevor Lewis, head of trade and investment at the British consulate-general in Guangzhou.
"The UK places great importance on the cooperation with China and values the opportunities presented by the Chinese market," he said.
China on June 12 granted Indonesian citizens a visa-free transit stay of up to 10 days, expanding the number of countries eligible for the policy to 55.
China will adopt a visa-free entry policy for Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain.
