The Second Session of the 2024 UCLG ASPAC Executive Bureau and the 2024 Council Meetings, with the tagline "Innovation-Driven and Regional Collaboration: Building a Green, Digital and High-Tech Urban Future" was held in Zhengzhou, Central China's Henan province, from Oct 22 to 24.
The World Organization of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) is the only local government organization recognized by the United Nations, covering 240,000 cities, towns, regions, and metropolises and 70 percent of the population in 193 UN-recognized countries.
Representatives of Xiamen attended the meetings, and with the active promotion of the Xiamen People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (XMPAFFC), representatives of Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University participated in the conference and delivered a speech at the parallel forum.
They introduced the hospital's Heart Sapling Visiting Scholar Program, sharing Xiamen's proactive exploration and attempts in international medical cooperation and promoting the establishment of a global human health community.
During the conference, delegates from Romania, Indonesia, South Korea, and other countries took the initiative to communicate with representatives from Xiamen, establishing contacts and discussing the possibility of promoting future exchanges and cooperation in areas such as health and culture.
The XMPAFFC will continue its mission of promoting pragmatic international cooperation and leveraging the role of the UCLG's international platform to showcase China's modernization practices to the world.
