The BRICS Forum on Partnership on New Industrial Revolution 2024 is scheduled to begin in Xiamen on Sept 10. This forum, which has invited BRICS nations, representatives from 40 countries, and international organizations like the New Development Bank, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and the Digital Cooperation Organization, seeks to forge high-quality partnerships and usher in a new era of industrialization cooperation.
The forum will feature events including the opening ceremony, outcome releases, and specialized discussions. The two-day forum will also host other supporting activities such as the BRICS New Industrial Revolution Exhibition.
As the inaugural forum following BRICS expansion, it has attracted significant interest and active participation from BRICS and BRICS+ nations, with representatives from 31 countries confirming their attendance. Notable figures from leading Chinese enterprises including China Telecom, iFlytek, and CATL, will also be present.
The forum will focus on key global issues related to the technological revolution and industrial transformation, highlighting the opportunities and challenges faced by BRICS and other developing countries in accelerating industrialization. Ten specialized discussions will delve into areas such as artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, and low-altitude industries, aiming to foster cooperation in policy-making, technological innovation, and industrial development.
A key highlight of the forum will be the introduction of an initiative on international cooperation for new industrialization, which advocates for enhanced collaboration among BRICS and BRICS+ nations to explore unique paths for new industrialization and drive mutual development.
Furthermore, the forum will feature various supporting activities such as the BRICS New Industrial Revolution Exhibition, creating a platform for technical exchanges, exhibitions, project collaborations, and industry-finance docking for industries across nations. These initiatives aim to provide public services for industrial cooperation and support BRICS nations’ industries in unlocking their cooperation potential.
