The Hong Kong-registered vessel OOCL London recently berthed at the Ocean Gate Container Terminal, marking the official launch and operation of the new COSCO Shipping SEA3 route to the Southwest United States (USA).

The new SEA3 route will deploy six container ships, operating once a week.

The route starts from Xiamen Port and passes through ports such as Yantian in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, Long Beach in the USA, and Kaohsiung in Taiwan.

Goods produced in Xiamen and surrounding cities, including electronics, daily necessities, and apparel, will be shipped via this route, reaching American customers more quickly. The route is expected to bring an annual throughput of approximately 100,000 TEUs.

To ensure the orderly execution of the first SEA3 route at Xiamen Port, various port inspection units have actively coordinated with relevant port and shipping companies. They conducted advance checks on the status of the ship and its crew, processed administrative border inspection permits, and ensured that the vessel did not have to wait upon arrival and experienced no delays in operation.
