Xiamen, known as the "garden on the sea", was honored as one of China's top 10 cities of great beauty, which is the highest award among the lists of China Good Life Cities (2022-23), on May 5 in Chengdu.
The list is based on the China Good Life Survey, which covers more than 1.6 million Chinese households, and is currently the world's largest people's livelihood sentiment survey. It focuses on China's hot tourist destinations and popular places.
Besides the stunning mountains and ocean beauty, the coastal city is the bellwether for reform and opening up. Technological innovation has become the core engine for the city's economic development.
As an ecological garden city, a city of innovation and entrepreneurship, and an open city, Xiamen has won many honors such as the National Civilized City, the United Nations Habitat Award and the International Garden City. Three of Xiamen's hot tourist spots are Gulangyu Island, Nanputuo Temple and Xiamen (Wanshi) Botanical Garden, which are among must-see places in the city for visitors.
China has launched a new pilot program to allow eligible enterprises greater access to overseas financing in support of green and low-carbon transformation projects, the country's foreign exchange regulator said on Aug 21.
To further streamline the experience, China is expanding tax refund stores, broadening the range of refundable goods, and refining refund procedures, ensuring an efficient and seamless shopping experience for global visitors.
