
A group of Xiamen's exhibition enterprises flew to Beijing to participate in the 14th edition of China Meetings Industry Convention (CMIC), which was held from Feb 15 to 17.
At the convention, fruitful results were yielded by Xiamen's exhibition enterprises. During the three days, each enterprise had sparked business talks with no less than 40 buyers and a great number of projects are expected to start in Xiamen.
Themed on "Xiamen, a beautiful city famous for exhibitions", a representative from the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce provided details on the city's exhibition industry, including the environment, facilities and platforms, and discussed upcoming favorable policies.
According to the representative, Xiamen has always highly valued the exhibition industry, and currently it strives to promote the in-depth integration of exhibitions and other sectors by empowering economic growth by boosting the exhibition industry.
At the same time, the representative sent invitations to attendees from other parts of China to join the 2023 Xiamen International Exhibition Week, which will take place from April 14 to 17, and to hold exhibitions in Xiamen in the future.

China has decided to extend its visa waiver policy to ordinary passport holders from Canada and the United Kingdom starting from Feb 17.
Forty-one new port-of-entry duty-free shops have been established nationwide, with Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport, Xiamen Wutong Passenger Wharf, and Xiamen International Cruise Center included on the list.
