1. French children's films being shown in Xiamen

An exhibition of French children's films kicked off at the Siming Theater in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province on Nov 2.

The event was sponsored by Xiamen ITG Holding Group Co as part of the 35th China Golden Rooster Awards, which opened in Xiamen on Nov 10.

Five well-known French children's films are scheduled to be screened throughout the month.

Yu Hao, deputy director general of the Xiamen foreign affairs office, underscored the friendly relations between China and France during his speech at the opening ceremony.

Yu said the film exhibition is a good example of cultural exchanges between the two countries and one of the highlights of this year's Golden Rooster Awards.

He added that it is also an effective practice that benefits people through greater international friendships.

Isabelle Glachant, chief representative of UniFrance Film in China, also sent her well-wishes for the event through video.

2. Expats uncover Xiamen's stories in new era

The Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Fujian Province and the Foreign Affairs Office of Xiamen Municipal People's Government hosted an activity with the theme of "Journeying together toward a win-win future" on Nov 5 to tell expats the development stories of Xiamen in the new era.

Expats from 10 countries including Germany, France, Indonesia, Colombia and Morocco took part in the event, during which they learned about the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Xiamen's efforts to promote Chinese modernization.

They also visited the main venue of the BRICS Xiamen Summit in 2017, Yundang Lake, Xiamen International Book Mall and San'an Optoelectronics Co to witness Xiamen's progresses in industrial and cultural development, environmental protection and internationalization.

3. Themed event promotes South Jeolla Province in Xiamen

A promotional event for South Jeolla Province in the Republic of Korea was held on Nov 11 in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, to mark the 15th anniversary of the establishment of friendly relations between Fujian and South Jeolla provinces.

More than 100 government officials and business representatives from both countries, as well as representatives of travel agencies in Xiamen, were in attendance.

The event promoted South Jeolla Province's unique tourism and cultural resources through pictures, videos and cultural performances.

Attendees got a chance to try on traditional ROK clothing and makeup and use local specialties such as kelp and nori to make local foods.

During the event, a Xiamen-based company also signed an agreement to import high-quality products from South Jeolla Province.
