Xiamen ranked first in terms of business environment in Fujian province in 2021, marking the third consecutive year that the city has received the honor, local media reported on March 22.
Among the 18 first-level indicators, Xiamen leads the province in 16 indicators, including labor market supervision, tax payment, government affairs service, cross-border commerce, and setting up companies.
Xiamen has been stepping up its efforts to build a leading business environment in the province in recent years. It implemented 262 key goals to improve the business environment over the past year, including putting the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District into official operation, building a credit demonstration city, and introducing six supportive social credit regulation methods.
While optimizing the business environment, the city has formed a number of innovative practices that have been declared at the national and provincial levels, such as handling the entire process of tax-related matters online.
According to officials from the Xiamen development and reform commission, Xiamen will address weak indicators and maintain current advantages in order to create a good business environment and support the city's high-quality development.
