A delegation led by Chi Chiew Sum, consul general of Singapore in Xiamen, met with the city's government officials and agreed to deepen cooperation in Xiamen's urban development, according to a local media report on July 9.
The delegation consists of five members, including enterprise representatives from the Singapore-based Surbana Jurong, which specializes in urban development solutions. It was formed in 2015 through cooperation between Surbana International Consultants Pte Ltd, Jurong International Holdings, and Singbridge International Singapore Pte. Ltd.
Huang Yantian, deputy mayor of Xiamen, expressed hope that the company will take part in the planning and design of Xiamen's new airport, and share its experience in urban planning and construction in order to accelerate the city's development.
China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
