A batch of road construction equipment produced by Xiamen XGMA Machinery Co departed from Xiamen Port in East China's Fujian province for Africa on June 18, following the export of the company's machinery products to Europe in May.

The equipment, which includes large-tonnage loaders, excavators, and road rollers, is valued at more than 30 million yuan ($4.35 million) and will arrive in Algeria in around 30 days.

"The client has high requirements for the equipment due to the high temperatures and sea levels at the construction site," said Lin Chunming, president of XGMA, in an interview with Xiamen Daily.

Since receiving the order in April, the company has adjusted its production line and facilities to provide tailored solutions for the client.

Comprehensive technical and after-sale services will be offered during construction to ensure that the project is able to proceed smoothly during the COVID-19 outbreak, Lin said.

In recent years, XGMA has been working to expand its presence in overseas markets. The company currently has more than 150 agents and 500 sales and service offices around the globe.

In spite of the epidemic, the company’s production lines have been operating at full capacity, with continual orders from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Lin said that the company has given top priority to the safety and health of employees, and has taken strict precautionary measures.

Moving forward, the company plans to promote innovation and industrial upgrading and strengthen its cooperation with BRI countries, Lin said.
