1. Xiamen foreign affairs office offers 24/7 services amid pandemic
The foreign affairs office of Xiamen, Fujian province has dispatched officers to offer various types of services at the city's airports 24 hours a day in an effort to prevent imported COVID-19 cases, Xiamen Daily reported.
They have been helping collect passenger information, divert inbound travelers and conduct medical observations. The office is also translating documents, offering consultation services, explaining policies, and counseling inbound travelers and local expats.

2. Foreign affairs official works throughout holiday
Ke Binwei, a senior official at the foreign affairs office of Xiamen, stayed at his post to coordinate the city's anti-epidemic efforts during the May Day holiday, Xiamen Daily reported.
Although he stayed busy throughout the entire holiday, he said he mostly just did "trivial things" like passing on information about inbound travelers to the city’s health commission and drafting and issuing documents related to the prevention of imported COVID-19 cases.
"My job is nothing compared to those on the frontlines," Ke said.
3. Foreign affairs director inspects virus prevention efforts
Li Xiaoping, director of the foreign affairs office of Xiamen, Fujian province, visited the city's center for directing travelers on May 7.
He studied the center’s work procedures and was struck by the concerted efforts of all the center's workers. He also said that more efforts should be made to prevent a rebound in novel coronavirus cases.
China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
