
Li Xiaoping, director of Xiamen's Foreign Affairs Office, met with Koyshibaev Gabit, consul general of Kazakhstan in Shanghai, on Dec 9.
Li briefed him on the Chinese city's latest economic and social developments as well as cooperation between Xiamen and Kazakhstan.
He said that Kazakhstan is an important participant of the Belt and Road Initiative and has huge cooperation potential with Xiamen.
Gabit said that the China-Kazakhstan comprehensive strategic partnership serves as an example for neighboring countries and an increasing number of Kazakhstanis are now studying and living in China.
He hopes to further enhance practical cooperation with Xiamen in trade, technology, and higher education.
