
The 2019 China (Changchun) summer tour industry summit, which was held in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province, revealed a list of the ten most popular domestic summer destinations in 2019.
According to data from hundreds of thousands of users on domestic travel app Ctrip, China's leading online travel agency, Xiamen in eastern Fujian province was the most visited destination of 2019.
Statistics also showed that 43 percent of tourists chose package tours, 32 percent chose independent travel, and 25 percent chose a mix of the two. Younger users tended to favor independent travel.
