A piano concert staged by musicians from Manila, capital of the Philippines, and Xiamen kicked off in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province on Jun 13.
Musicians from the two countries performed pieces by world-renowned composers Achille-Claude Debussy, Felix Mendelssohn, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, as well as distinctive Filipino and Chinese music.
An audience of roughly 900, including officials from the foreign consulate-general in Xiamen, representatives from offices of foreign institutions in Xiamen, foreign experts and local residents, was present at the performance.
The event was co-sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Xiamen Municipal Government, the Consulate General of the Philippines in Xiamen, and the Xiamen People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
