Xiamen and Nice should look for more cooperation opportunities in the areas of tourism and culture, suggested Han Jingyi, vice-mayor of Xiamen.
Han made the remarks during his meeting with Rudy Salles, vice-mayor of Nice, France on May 23.
He said that the two cities share many similarities in terms of natural environment and urban construction, and Nice boasts a wealth of experience in the film and culture industries.
Han expressed hope that the China Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival, one of the top events in China's film industry to be held in the city this year, will highlight some elements from Nice.
Han also suggested the culture and tourism government departments from the two cities should think about how best to cooperating in the film and culture industries.
Salles said that Nice is delighted to further cooperate with Xiamen in film, culture and tourism.
Salles presented the frame with the earliest correspondance between the two cities as a gift to Xiamen to mark the fifth anniversary of the establishment of sister-city relations between the two cities.
During his stay in Xiamen, Salles also visited the Maritime Silk Road Culture and Art Zone in Aotou village, a fishing village in the city with a strong literature and art scene, to get an overall understanding of the development of the creative cultural industry in the city.

China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
