Novi Sad, the second largest city in the European country of Serbia, recently announced plans to purchase 100 passenger vehicles from Xiamen-based Golden Dragon Bus Co, according to Xiamen's Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office.

The decision was made during the visit of Pavle Bašić, member of Serbia National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with Russia and China, to the Chinese city from Jan 28 to 30.

Bašić visited the Xiamen company on the second day of his visit, where Bašić got a further understanding of Golden Dragon's main vehicle models, research and development ability and overseas sales.

Both sides believes that the project is good for Golden Dragon to tap into the potential of passenger vehicles in Eastern European countries and make Serbia the Xiamen company's key base to expand into the European market.

Bašić revealed during his visit that the Serbia National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with Russia and China is willing to promote more Fujian companies, including Golden Dragon, to invest in their country.

Founded in 1992, Golden Dragon Bus Co, a manufacturer of medium-large sized luxury buses and light vans, has grown into a leading complete-vehicle export base in China with three factories of total annual output capacity of 40,000 buses and approximately 4,000 employees.
