Zhuang Jiahan, mayor of Xiamen, Fujian province, met the newly-appointed consul general of Thailand on Nov 23.
Zhuang expressed his willingness to further deepen cooperation with Thailand in trade, tourism, culture and education.
In response, the newly-appointed consul general promised to offer more convenient services for both sides' future exchanges.
China has decided to extend its visa waiver policy to ordinary passport holders from Canada and the United Kingdom starting from Feb 17.
