The third museum in Xiamen, rebuilt from Terminal 2 of the city's Gaoqi Airport, consists of four parts with a total area of 10,000 square meters: an exhibition area, a Red Dot Design salon, a Red Dot Design School and a Design Library.
The Red Dot Design salon, the first in the world, is equipped with a discussion room, a photostudio and a pop-up store of independent designers to offer designers a place to share their innovative ideas and make them into reality.

The museum is open to the public from 10 am to 6 pm from Tuesdays to Sundays.
