Stanley Loh, Singapore's ambassador to China, led a delegation to visit Xiamen from Aug 17 to 18, in order to deepen the overall cooperation between Singapore and the city from Fujian province.
This is the fifth time that Loh has visited the city since he took the post in 2012.
Pei Jinjia, Party chief of Xiamen, met with the delegation on Aug 17.
Pei briefed them on the economic and social achievements Xiamen has made since China's reform and opening-up, and expressed confidence in the promising future of the bilateral cooperation.
Loh expressed his admiration for Xiamen's great achievements and regarded this year as a strategic period of sound opportunities for cooperation, as the year 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up.
Both sides extended their hopes to implement the consensus made between the two state leaders in enhancing cooperation in multiple areas such as trade & finance, culture exchanges and personnel training, to realize mutual benefits and contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative.
During the visit, Loh attended the opening ceremony of the new building for the Bank of Overseas Chinese, as well as a reception for the 53rd National Day of Singapore.
He also visited the Graduate Institute for Taiwan Studies of Xiamen University, and the local company San'an Optoelectronics Co.

China has launched a new pilot program to allow eligible enterprises greater access to overseas financing in support of green and low-carbon transformation projects, the country's foreign exchange regulator said on Aug 21.
To further streamline the experience, China is expanding tax refund stores, broadening the range of refundable goods, and refining refund procedures, ensuring an efficient and seamless shopping experience for global visitors.
