The chairwoman of the Australia Xiamen Association of Business Chamber (AXABC) led a delegation to visit Xiamen from Aug 8 to 9, in order to seek further trade cooperation between the country and the city from Fujian province.
The chamber, a non-profit, non-governmental organization, was established in June of this year.
Li Xiaoping, head of the Chinese city's Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, congratulated Chen Ren at a meeting with the Australian delegation on her election to be the chairwoman of the AXABC's first council.
Li expects the chamber to help enhance the exchanges between Xiamen and Australia in various fields and advance mutual understanding between the residents of both places.
The chairwoman said that she plans to lead a delegation to this year's China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) which is set to take place in the Chinese city from Sept 8 to 11 in the hope of learning more about local Chinese companies and seeking business opportunities for Australian companies.
During their stay in Xiamen, the Australian delegation also conducted talks with relevant local government departments to persuade the city's commerce bureau to establish a liaison office for investment and trade in Australia and discuss regulations on the entry of Australian goods into China and Xiamen's preferential policies for cross-border e-commerce companies.
China has launched a new pilot program to allow eligible enterprises greater access to overseas financing in support of green and low-carbon transformation projects, the country's foreign exchange regulator said on Aug 21.
To further streamline the experience, China is expanding tax refund stores, broadening the range of refundable goods, and refining refund procedures, ensuring an efficient and seamless shopping experience for global visitors.
