A delegation headed by the chairman of the Hong Kong Promotion Association of International Cooperation visited Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co, a leading public vehicle manufacturer in China, on June 4.
The two sides discussed their plans for cooperation in exporting new energy vehicles to the countries along the Belt and Road route, and developing new energy vehicles.
In addition to this, the feasibility of creating driverless vehicles at some point in the future was also discussed.
The Hong Kong delegation members took the driverless bus Apolong before they left the city, which is developed by the public vehicle manufacturer and Chinese internet giant Baidu and is set to be put into mass production and trial operation by July 2018.

China has launched a new pilot program to allow eligible enterprises greater access to overseas financing in support of green and low-carbon transformation projects, the country's foreign exchange regulator said on Aug 21.
To further streamline the experience, China is expanding tax refund stores, broadening the range of refundable goods, and refining refund procedures, ensuring an efficient and seamless shopping experience for global visitors.
