
The number of deliveries from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative to the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone topped 222,400 in 2017, up almost 15 percent year-on-year, according to the Customs officials in Xiamen.
The value of the deliveries exceeded 11 billion yuan, up more than 26 percent year-on-year. Total imports from Belt and Road countries to Xiamen exceeded 71 billion yuan in 2017.
Items imported via express delivery typically included electronic parts for the manufacture of goods and for aeronautical maintenance.
