The first Light Festival in Guanyin Mountain of Xiamen's Siming district was unveiled on Feb 2.
This festival, presented by the top lantern show team in China, will run through March 11 for 38 days, spanning across the Spring Festival, the Lantern Festival and the Women's Day.
Many themed sets of lanterns are on display creating a dreamlike and dazzling wonderland: vigorous dogs greeting the Spring Festival, 12 Chinese zodiac signs and four colorful seasons.
A romantic wishing well and wishing lamps are also available for visitors for them to make wishes for their beloved ones.
Wonderful performances regarding intangible cultural heritages can be enjoyed at the festival, such as walking on a knife-edge, different ethnic groups' dances, juggling, magic and face-changing – from one face to another almost instantaneously with the swipe of a fan, a movement of the head, or wave of the hand.
Three-dimensional balloon exhibition is also held during the festival where different figures made of balloons are shown, such as castles, marine animals, and cartoon characters.
