Gambian President Adama Barrow visited Xiamen, Fujian province from Dec 22 to 24.
On Dec 23, the Gambian president was received by Yu Weiguo, governor of Fujian. Yu briefed Barrow on the social and economic development of Fujian and expressed his wishes to conduct pragmatic cooperation with Gambia in various sectors, such as tourism, agriculture, and food processing.
Barrow marveled at the achievements of Fujian since the reform and opening-up. He agreed with Yu, noting that his country can learn from Fujian and enhance cooperation with Fujian in agriculture, energy, tourism and infrastructure.
During his stay in Xiamen, Barrow paid a visit to the Xiamen City Planning Exhibition Hall and learned about the development of the coastal city. He also expressed interest in China's high-speed railway and the architectural style in Xiamen.

China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
