During the meeting, Chen said that for overseas Chinese, Surinam serves as the front door to South America and that Surinam is the only Latin American country to recognize China's Spring Festival as a statutory public holiday.
Chen also expressed his eagerness to see frequent exchanges and cooperation in investment and trade between the two sides.
The Surinamese side introduced the country's rich mineral and forest resources, and agreed that the two sides can strengthen cooperation on the economy and trade, technology, tourism and food processing.
