The large Culture Festival also saw art troupes from the United States, Poland, Romania, and South Korea and served as a site for mingling art and culture worldwide. This lovely tourism city in East Java province is also a famous trading port. It established the sister city relationship with Xiamen in June 2006, and has developed ties in the economy, culture, education, and sports.

China has decided to extend its visa waiver policy to ordinary passport holders from Canada and the United Kingdom starting from Feb 17.
Forty-one new port-of-entry duty-free shops have been established nationwide, with Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport, Xiamen Wutong Passenger Wharf, and Xiamen International Cruise Center included on the list.
