The 19th China International Fair for Investment & Trade will include a design forum, when the fair is held in Xiamen, Fujian province.
Set to open on Sept 10, the forum is organized by the Interior Designers Association of Fujian province in a bid to give Chinese designers an opportunity to communicate with their peers from the rest of the world.
Sun Xiaohua, former vice-president of the All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce; Wu Haiyan, dean of the college of art and design at the China Academy of Art; Liu Guanzhoung, art professor at Tsinghua University; Yuan Zongnan, a lighting designer from Taiwan province; Liao Weili, a famous architect from Taiwan province; and Yu Jinggan, an interior designer; were invited to speak at the forum.
A design competition will be launched during the forum along with an activity to organize Chinese designers to tour the world in a search for new ideas.
