The 8th Xiamen-Kinmen swimming event, crossing the Taiwan Strait, will take place this Sunday.
The swimmers will set out from Shuangkou Village of Kinmen at 9:10 a.m. on July 31st, and is expected to arrive at Yefengzhai Village on Huandao Road at around 10:35 a.m.
It will be a relay race that will be carried out by two swimmers as a team to finish a 7km course. A total of 180 swimmers in 90 teams will compete in the event this year.
The event is co-organized by the Chinese Swimming Association, Xiamen Municipal Government, Masters Swimming Taiwan and Kinmen County Government.
The first Xiamen-Kinmen Crossing was held in August 2009.
