A delegation from the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute met with the organizers of the 2016 China International Fair for Investment & Trade, in Xiamen, Fujian province on July 20.
The fair’s organizers, the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Convention and Exhibition Affairs, offered Macao the Guest Region of Honor title for the fair’s 2016 session this September, and are collaborating with the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute in organizing a Dynamic Macao serial promotional event.
Liu Guanhua, who led the delegation of nine, introduced preparation done for the fair. The two parties also organized further cooperation for thematic exhibitions, match making events and road shows.
The 2016 fair will include the 23rd leg of the Dynamic Macao promotional event, where Macao’s traditional and modern sides will be demonstrated via VR technologies and art performances at 13 carefully orchestrated events.
It is expected that the a Macao delegation of more than 400 will participate in this year’s fair, including more than 120 Macao companies which will bring more than 1,000 specialty products for display.
Liu said that promotional activities during the fair will encourage business cooperation between China and Portuguese speaking nations and help small and medium-sized Macao companies access global markets.
Wang Qiongwen, director of the Xiamen convention and exhibition affairs bureau, pledged to allocate as many resources as possible to help Macao businesses to achieve fruitful results by participating in the fair and expressed the bureau’s intention to establish a regular mechanism with the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute for better cooperation. Wang also invited Liu to attend the forum on cooperation in the convention and exhibition industry throughout the mainland, Macao, Hong Kong and Taiwan, upcoming in November.
China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
